Are you a landowner who has enjoyed and been enthralled by watching the
Western Bluebird nesting activity in your yard or in your neighborhood? Are you a current
monitor who has a friend or family member who would like to get more involved with caring
for the bluebirds during their nesting season? Prescott Bluebird Recovery Project is
looking for additional monitors. Our project primarily targets the Sherwood, Wilsonville
and Newberg areas of Oregon.
Come join the AM session of our Spring Volunteer Workshop held at
Champoeg Park Visitors Center and hear how to monitor a bluebird trail. You will learn
about the nesting behavior of this charming yet vulnerable bird. Should you choose to
become a monitor you will be assigned a bander who will ‘show you the ropes’ and guide you
through your first year.
We welcome back our returning monitors to the February Workshop’s
afternoon session. We look forward to seeing you again, sharing upcoming route information
and enjoying the camaraderie that goes along with ‘loving our blues’.
